A man working in fraud investigation has posted a picture online of one man’s hilarious attempt to use a very famous face as the photo in their fraudulent passport
Fraud is no joke, but sometimes the attempt made to pose as somebody else is so poor that you can’t help but laugh.
That’s what happened when one man working in fraud investigation was left crying with laughter after picking up a case involving a “manipulated passport”.
The passport was for a person from Oklahoma, USA, who was born in 1967, but the photo on the legal document instead showed a very famous face – Justin Bieber.
Posting a picture of the document on Twitter, the man wrote: “I work in fraud and was investigating a fraudulent account that had been rejected for a manipulated passport, so I went to check it and this is what I saw.”
Since sharing the photo, the man’s tweet has racked up almost 8,000 retweets and over 96,000 likes.
And fellow Twitter users can’t believe someone would attempt to pass as a world-famous popstar on their legal documents.
Someone commented: “Imagine thinking you can get away with trying to be Justin Bieber.”
To which another commenter replied: “Wait why did they think this would work though?”
And someone else wrote: “I’m concerned he thought it would work, to be honest.”
It’s unclear what made the mystery passport holder think they could pose as the Yummy singer, but it seems they only chose to use his photo, as Justin was actually born in 1994 and is from London, Canada.
And many commenters were quick to point out the discrepancies in the rest of the passport.
One wrote: “Justin Bieber isn’t even from the US, let alone Oklahoma!”
While another said: “Justin’s birthday is not October, it is March 1st like mine.”
And a third joked: “I didn’t know Justin Bieber was 54 years old.”
However, one Twitter user revealed their friend also owns a fake passport which has an old picture of Kim Kardashian as the photo.
They wrote: “They really be trying it!! My buddy got a document, and the photo was early 2000s Kim Kardashian.”
